This low cost instant paper mâché clay is made with a virgin recycled paper medium which helps it mix easily and mold quickly. CelluClay is ACMI certified as AP nontoxic. Using CelluClay does not require any special tools or firing, just simply add water and allow it to air dry naturally. Once dry, it can be sanded, sawed, nailed, or painted. Wet Celluclay can also be added to areas already dried. Once mixed, any unused portions may be stored for several days in the refrigerator in a sealed plastic bag. CelluClay adheres to almost any surface and can be combined with a variety of materials, making it the perfect versatile addition to any project.

The original gray is from virgin printed paper.
The bright white is from virgin unprinted paper.

This stuff is either a great medium or a pricey mess of grainy lumps,no kneading will produce smooth workable texture in some batches. No way of knowing what you will have when you buy the pkg, One pack will be perfectly smooth and pliable, the next pack you buy can be cash in the waste basket. Unreliable and Unpredictable.

Celluclay mixes to either a delightful medium or a granular non-cohesive mass, varies from pack to pack. No way of knowing at time of purchase what you will have at time of mixing. Expensive to buy , a kick in the wallet when it must be discarded. Quality control needed

Celluclay varies from pkg. to pkg. Generally an excellent result for the Santa figurines I sell.(All proceeds go to our local Hospital fund.) On occasion a pkg. (I buy 5 lb. pkg) is unusable, cannot be mixed to a smooth texture, but forms grainy lumps. No amount of mixing will produce a smooth blendable texture. I buy at Michael's stores, and the product costs double what I pay in Fl. and it causes me pain in the wallet to discard the whole lot. Opened pkgs are not refundable, and of course there is no way of knowing If I'll have a good batch or a crafter's nightmare. Buying this product seems to be the luck of the draw. P.S. I did write the Texas Co. address with no reply. Hope other crafters will read this and save frustration and cash.

Excellent product. Dries fast, small shrinking, good texture.

This is great stuff to work with. I make santa clauses with it. The sculpting is easy and clean up is a zip. When this stuff dries it can be sanded, drilled, and water proofed. Also is very light when dry,not heavy like clay.

Wonderful material to work with! I used this product to make tribal masks with children ages 4 - 7. A versatile medium, that even a child can work without frustration. Once dry, we coated with gesso, light sanding, then painted with acrylic paint, and lastly a topcoat of acrylic gloss medium. I made a beautiful sun mask that hangs in my studio. Still looks wonderful!
