Product Questions and Answers

Are the inks waterproof on glass?

- Answered by MisterArt on 18-Sep-13

Can these inks be used on polymer clay?

- Asked by Mary Macheak on 18-Mar-13

Yes, the Jacquard Pinata Alcohol Inks can be used on polymer clay.

- Answered by MisterArt on 21-Mar-13

Are Pinata inks compatible with Ranger alcohol inks and with alcohol?

- Asked by Alice on 03-Oct-12

Both Jacquard Piñata Alcohol Inks and Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks are alcohol-based and are compatible with one another. However when mixing and blending between the two keep in mind that each brand will have their own formulas for the inks. This may make it difficult to predict the results of mixing and blending. Piñata Alcohol Inks can be diluted and extended with alcohol.

I wish the all the álcohol ink companies would narrow the bottle openings. They are way TOO big! It gives you little control. Any chance a company can come up with a more needle-nosed opening?

Excellent color, easy to use

These are WONDERFUL, vibrant inks. For a while, I abandoned these in favor of the Adirondack inks, but the more I work in ink, the more I find myself reaching for the Pinatas. Also- BAJA BLUE is a wonderful, bright turquoise color, and SENORITA MAGENTA is a VERY bright fuschia. The MisterArt color samples aren't exactly true to color, so if you are looking for a great turquoise ink, the BAJA BLUE is perfect. My only complaint? The dropper tip to the bottle is broader than I would like. I use pipettes to dispense the ink because the bottles put out too large a drop for fine detail work. But other than that, beautiful!

LOVE, can I use the word love? for color? The colors are so bright, clear, and work so well on my glass ideas. Fun, fun, fun.

I prefer this product to the competition's (Rangers) alcohol inks, as these are more saturated...thus the colors are much more intense. The formulation must be different because on shiny or smooth surfaces, they dry more quickly and are much more glossy. Especially beautiful on cured polymer clay and PERFECT to create faux stone or paper effects on anything. So permanent these inks once dry can be buffed using a muslin buffing wheel to add even more shine, or to knock down some of the depth or gloss for a satiny smooth sheen. Can be thinned with regular (inexpensive drugstore) alcohol, cleanup is a snap using regular isopropyl!
