If you're working with acrylics, these are wonderful. After mixing with them, the paint wipes off easily- no need to wash them. They flex quite a bit, which is great for mixing, but using them to paint with if you need something sturdy can be tricky.

I love these scotty style knives for mixing and sometimes applying; putties and touch up colors. It seems quite difficult to keep enough of them around to have one always handy ... so I am ordering them by the dozens. They also double as detail tools for plastering and drywall mud work.

We use these in mass quantities for the Foundation courses here at the University; the students have readily accessible tools without worrying about losing track of them or purchasing more expensive knives over and over again.
