This domestic wood, selectively cut in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin, is desired because of its economy, workability, and finishing qualities. Its close, tight, homogenous grain structure makes it ideal for a wide variety of hobbies, crafts, and miniatures.

Thin basswood may be cut with a hobby knife; thicker basswood requires a saw for cutting. Basswood may be stained or painted to represent any wood type.

I use the basswood sticks often in my work as a found-objects, recycle artist. They strong, clean and nicely finished. I often woodburn designs into them and they take a burn well. They are rather difficult to find, so I was very pleased to see that I could get them at MisterArt.com, and at very good prices.

This basswood material i ordered arrived in record time, packaged very very well, i havent used it yet, but it will be stained to look old and part of a old western saloon. The items are sanded well, perfectly cut, no snags i will need more later and will certainly order it from Mister Art.
