Soda ash is a mild alkali that promotes the chemical reaction between Procion MX fiber reactive dye and cellulose fiber. Soda ash is also known as sodium carbonate, washing soda, or sal soda. One pound of soda ash is required to activate and "set" Procion dye for approximately 15 T-shirts.

For a long time I made dyed shirts without using Jacquard Soda Ash Dye Fixer because I didn't think it would help that much. A friend of mine convinced me to get some from this site. Once it came I made a shirt, but this time I soaked the shirt in the soda ash. I couldn't believe the results when the shirt was finished! The colors were so vibrant and so far they have lasted much much longer. Not to mention the outstanding low price I got it for here at MisterArt.com! Thanks guys!

Once I started soaking my t-shirts with the soda ash- I definitely could tell a difference in the quality of my dyed products. The dye is absorbed and retained so much better when the soda ash is used. I wouldn't and WON'T dye without it!

Soda ash works GREAT! I mix it with grated washing soap and it makes a terrific laundry soap gel. My customers are VERY pleased with the results.
