The Winton range of oils provides the highest quality colors at an affordable price. These colors have a high level of pigmentation, providing great covering power, and are stronger than many artists’ quality ranges. They also have a uniform consistency that retains brush and knife stroke textures.

Winton Oil Colours are available in 37 ml and 200 ml tubes.

Product Questions and Answers

I've started using Winsor & Newton oil paints. Can I use the Titanium White straight or do I have to thin it?

- Asked by Brandi on 06-Nov-13

This depends on how thick you want the paint to be. In general, however, you will need to thin all the paints with some combination that includes turpenoid. Also, look at all the other oil mediums, such as linseed oil, as there are others you can use to get different effects.

- Answered by MisterArt on 06-Nov-13

What does the word "hue" mean in "Cerulean Blue Hue"?

- Asked by Luiz Nascimento on 29-Dec-12

The word "hue" just refers to the paint color having a shade or tint to it.

Rated by: Diane S. in Boulder Junction, WI
Not all colors are equal relating to manufacturer but this company always delivers an excellent product.
Rated by: Diane S. in Boulder Junction, WI
Very satisfied with excellent product. I have not painted in years so I thought perhaps products have been cheapened as time went on but now I have proof that the standard of products have been held high and I can continue to produce a high quality painting. I rate these products A++

Great colors for the budding artist.
Rated by: Ronald G. in allentown, PA
Exceptional, quality oil colors at a very reasonable price. They have a creamy consistency and are highly pigmented. Beautiful, clear, bright color palette to choose from. Transparency of colors, without the addition of white, allows for subtle layering/shading/glazeing techniques.

My dad recently went into Assisted Living, and does not have much income left. His ONLY hobby is oil painting. I've signed up for supplies, and the service was GREAT! Thanks.

First time using this product and was very pleased with it. The color of the paint are very bright and they bind very well. I have no problem when mixing them with a different brand of oil paint they mix easy and well. Will be using theses again when I need more of the colors I ordered
Rated by: George T. in lubbock, TX
I wouldn't say it is the best paint on the market, but its definitely very affordable with the price. hum... one of the problem is that you don't get a lot of coverage area for the paint.
Rated by: sergio s. in west palm beach, FL
best product i use
Rated by: howhow p. in oilton, TX

Rated by: Amber F. in Dallas, TX
These are a great paints for the beginning artist or hobbyist. I've actually been painting off and on for the past 30 years and haven't graduated to using the more expensive version. I also think this is better than the Grumbacher brand. Just my opinion.
Rated by: kevin b. in Saint Paul, IN
I enjoy using Winsor and Newton oils simply because their colors are vibrant, they are quite reasonably priced and they apply well.
Rated by: George N. in Montgomery, AL
For consistency of Color/Flow I use the same brand colors in nearly all my paintings. Winsor & Newton Winton provides just the consistency I need. Winsor & Newton Winton Colours are an excellent product for the price.
Rated by: Faith C. in Gainesville, FL
Always liked the W&N's and your tubes are 30% less than at our local art supply store. The portraits of my Grandaughters are coming along nicely.
Rated by: Christopher R. in Bar HArbor, ME
Love these as they are the right price for a budget painter without the lack of quality ...always use mister art.
Rated by: g n. in montgomery, AL

It's a good product - the oils I ordered are of the same quality as those that I buy for almost twice the price at the nearest arts and crafts store.
Rated by: kathy h. in wichita, KS
The oils I purchased are the same as the I used to buy from Hobby Lobby or Michaels, except they were 75% cheaper including shipping! excellent!
Rated by: Susan P. in Williamsburg, VA
I have begun to depend on these for background layers and bulkier forms. Not always the best thing for fine detail work.
Rated by: Carol D. in Pembroke, GA
Have used this brand for many years. Great prices. Excellent packaging and quick shipping.
Rated by: James W. in Mesquite, TX

Rated by: Tiffany W. in East Peoria, IL
Paint is great. Very smooth and great color.
Rated by: Michael J. in Maumelle, AR
These are the first and only oil paints I have used and have no complaints. I can't imagine more expensive paints being much better. Mister Art has great prices on these with the VIP membership. Also, these paints tend to dry very close to the original wet color. Maybe just a hair darker. I know a local professional artist that uses these paints and sells his works for several thousand dollars, so they must be pretty good!
Rated by: Arts Media J. in Everett, WA
Great price, excellent quality. Use for higher ed. students' projects.
Rated by: Jerri W. in jacksonville, FL
Since I am retired, and on a limited income, finding these paints in various colours and prices are awesome.
Rated by: lisa m. in cincinnati, OH
I especially like these paints because I paint on large canvases and this paint comes in large tubnes and is very affordable at Mister Art. Lots of paint in lots of colors!

Rated by: Sandra Z. in Cedar Rapids, IA
Great texture. Works well for current projects
Rated by: Misty F. in Damascus, VA
These paints can definitely stand up to the more expensive competition in oil paints. Buttery and smooth and hold their consistency very well. offers these paints for the most inexpensive price I've been able to find and the packaging was highly exceptional. Very, very pleased.
Rated by: Faith B. in Rolla, MO
I enjoy using the Winsor & Newton Oils as I like their consistency and quality. I am impressed with the response and quick delivery of my order by Each order I have made has received the same quick reliable response.
Rated by: Geoffrey F. in Port Washington, NY
I have used both the W&N Artist's Oils and Winton Oils. In many colors, the paints are basically identical... the Wintons tend to be a touch thinner/softer. The 6.75 oz Winton tubes have a very large mouth, which is great for those of us who work with large canvases and need to mix large quantites of paint.
Rated by: Joanne W. in Binghamton, NY
I am a first time customer. My order arrived quickly and intact. I find that the prices are better than in my favorite craft stores and your stores offers a much better range of colors to choose from as well as tube size for the colors I won't be using all that much. I look forward to creating my first theorm project and I know I will be pleased with the results. I will be a repeat customer.
Rated by: Tyra H. in Palos Heights, IL
These paints work well. They are an excellent value for the price. Occasionally the oil separates from the pigment in the tube. This is easily remedied by mixing.
Rated by: Shauna V. in Phoenix, AZ
Perfect for the painter with a thick, textured style. Bold colors are provided at a good price for those of us that "gob" it on!
Rated by: Rebecca M. in Cayce, SC
A GREAT value.
Rated by: janice m. in jackson, MS
I have tried many brands but these are the best I have found.
Rated by: Jamie G. in Brewster, NY
If you paint in a thick style, these are for you! But if you paint in thin layers, you should probably upgrade to the Winsor Newton Artist line instead, which has the same fabulous colors in a much, much higher pigment concentration. Since I thin down my paints a lot with turpeniod, I was very disappointed that the pigment of these colors seemed to totally disappear as soon as they were even slightly thinned. So, I had to unload all my Winton paints in favor of the Artist line, which seem to retain the richness of the color no matter how much turp you add.
Rated by: Joan C. in forest hills, NY
I keep coming back to these colors and this brand; I find it very reliable and I've used many more expensive brands, but I do think this is my favorite. Yellow Ochre and Burnt Sienna cannot be substituted elsewhere as far as I'm concerned. I will always buy these paints and I can afford the more expensive brands.
Rated by: Pat R. in Bonifay, FL
I have been painting with oils for about 18 years, have tried all brands of oils. Keep coming back to Winsor & Newton for quality and price. Mister Art gets your products to you at lighting fast speed! I am impressed with the care in package also.
Rated by: Sheryl H. in Yazoo City, MS
A very good product, I didn't see any difference between this and the Bob Ross paints. MisterArt does a great job in quickly getting your order to you too!
Rated by: W R. in Clarksville, TN
Tried and true product at a great price.
Rated by: eduardo s. in north hollywood, CA
I have used this product for years and I found and the most important thing I like about it, is low price on this oil colors.
Rated by: REVITAL L. in coral gables, FL
The paints have brilliant colors mostly in the reds, orange and yellow tones - some of the best on the market. They are well made with no oil seperation as some other do. For a painter like me who often squeeze the paint directly from the tube to the canvas, this is a wonderfully made, well priced paints.
Rated by: Trevor C. in norwalk, OH
I have used this brand of oils for a long time, and find them to be excellent.
Rated by: Katherine M. in Fairfield, CT
These are the only oils I've used, and they are great so far, the color is very rich, and they blend well.
Rated by: sandy s. in ooltewah, TN
Have used Winston-Newton paints for years and have found to be very pliable.
Rated by: Arleen T. in Lilburn, GA
Very good. Have used these for several years and found them very satisfactory. Seem to have SLIGHTLY more binder in them than more expensive paints but still have excellent covering quality and intensity of color. If you use a lot of paint, this is an excellent choice!
