Hmmm, since this is our first easel, we cannot rate by comparison. Our challenge was to find an easel to effectively display a large framed Erte print we had just done (>$350). In doing online and in-person research, we found that they vary in price, sturdiness and looks. It was the looks (simplicity) and color (black to enable a subdued and simple elegance statement to the Erte print..as well as complementing many others should we choose to do that) that stood out as we looked around. While we came across more expensive ones, visually they didn't work and we had an 'over the top, it's about the easel' feeling. The lesser expensive ones were just that: less money, and not offering the same complementary look that we felt a display item should convey with a piece of distinctive art. The piece was easy to assemble, and looks fantastic. However, the one potential drawback is the metal construction and we found a couple of pieces that quality control should have caught. The company 'made it right' immediately and that added to our satisfaction with the product choice.

I got this easel as a Christmas present for my wife and she likes it a lot. She was used to easels at the local university and likes this one better. The features she likes most are that it is nice and sturdy and also easily adjustable, and holds a large variety in size of canvas.

I like the size and the lightness of the easel. It also fits great into my little house. I'm looking forward to using it all the time.

... This is a Terrific Easel ! I've had any number of them .. form my first $7.99 wooden 4 pc bought at the collage book store ... To a 2 'grander' .. I like this one the best .. it just feel right walking up to it .. Very sturdy .. yet can be moved around with ease ... Easy to adjust it's position ... and was simple to put together ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! ! ! RoMo
