This rulet is lighter and easier to work with than the metal T Ruler. The only thing that I do not like is that this ruler is not made of a solid plastic piece. The surface is not completely smooth. It looks like if they bonded two pieces of plastic to make the ruler. I'm talking about the ruler itsef, not the head.

My 8th grade gifted students create houses to scale and they love these t-squares. They have really helped students with their drawings.
