Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Inks are formulated with carefully chosen pigments to ensure maximum brilliance of color. They are lightfast, non-waterproof, non-clogging, and particularly suited for calligraphy.

Gold, silver, white, and matte black are suitable for use with dip pens and brush. All other inks are suitable for use with dip pens, fountain pens, technical pens, and brush.

Single pigments have been used wherever possible to make clean color mixtures. All colors have a permanence rating of AA or A. The inks come in 30 ml bottles.

This is good ink. However, if you are buying ink for a Speedball Oblique Pen, then don't get this ink for the simple reason that the pen does not fit in the mouth of the ink jar.

I purchased two colors--sepia and gold. Both are well flowing, easily controlled and self levelling inks. The sepia tends to be transparent, which I found a bit frustrating. Bottles last a long time--good economy purchase.

Windsor Newton ink is the BEST and Mister Arts is the best place to obtain this ink at a wonderful price. I ordered silver ink to do calligraphy on black envelopes. Needless to say everything turned out wonderful!!

As a professional pointed pen artist, I require inks that flow easily from my pen and give me very fine hairlines. The Winsor & Newton Gold does just that. It is an excellent choice for the pointed pen artist, especially when used on very dark papers!

I am a newbe at calligraphy so this is not an expert opinion but I have had a lot of fun using all of the five different colors and they all seem to work quite well. I would have thought that the sepia would have a bit more of a yellow cast though.
