Staedtler has made a version of this eraser for years and it is the best on the market. Not too hard, not too soft. I use it for erasing pencil lines in architectural drafting and it works very well.

These erasers are the absolute best. I wish I had discovered them years ago. They don't 'shed' like other erasers and they work with little elbow grease, and don't leave residue.

This is the best eraser I've ever used. It's very soft formulation makes it great to use with a shield. I've been using Staedtler for years and really like the clean job it does. Easy on paper too!
