I like this pencil sharpener and it works well on fat pencils that the younger children need to use. Worth every penny.

Excellent little pencil sharpener with a great point shape for nearly every type of pencil including the fatter ones. Holds the debris for emptying later. Hard to open to empty however, but worth the hassle. Neat and clean.

Those are very good for several different size sharpening needs, like Dixon Ticonderoga Beginners Pencils and Dixon Ticonderoga Laddie Pencils. It'd be fine for crayon with the compatible diameter, also.
