Base Coats

Bob Ross Liquid Base Coats aid in the painting's formulation and keep the canvas wet, the most fundamental step in Bob's technique. Smooth and slow drying, they allow blending and mixing right on the canvas (the basis of the Bob Ross wet-on-wet method). These nontoxic base coats are also used to thin other oil colors for application over thicker paint. Apply a very thin, even coat over the entire surface area using a natural bristle brush, but do not allow to dry before you begin painting. Thin only with Turpenoid Odorless Thinner.

I have never really liked oil paints as a medium. With the discovery of the bob Ross wet on wet I, together with my teenaged daughter, who has never held a paint brush in her life prior to this, have been turning out painting after painting and cannot find the time to do as many as we want! The liquid mediums are absolutely fantastic. One can blend the colours directly on the canvas and get to finish a full painting, without having to wait for it to dry, in a little over an hour! A truly wonderful medium!

Great product that allows a novice like me to blend some beautiful colors and do things on canvas I never thought possible...Just wish they would make a container with a wide mouth so 2" brush could get to liquid white.
