Product Questions and Answers

Do these DVDs work in the UK please?

- Asked by Julian on 03-May-13

Firstly, we don't ship internationally. Secondly, I'm not sure if these DVDs would work with UK DVD formatting. If you'd like to buy this, I suggest trying to find it using a British site. I'm sure the DVD would be formatted for use in a British DVD player if it is sold there.

I finished my first painting about 30 hours ago. I went to move it and realized it was still wet. What is the normal wait time for a painting to dry?

- Asked by Amy on 29-Jan-13

An oil painting can take up to a year to be fully dry, to be honest, and the paint itself can be moved around when pressure is applied to it even when it feels dry to the gentle touch. The answer really depends on how thick you painted it. There isn't a book that can tell you when a painting will be fully dry. It depends.

- Answered by MisterArt on 04-Feb-13

What type of oil paint is used?

- Asked by nancy mcAllister on 29-Jan-13

The Joy of Painting TV Series DVDs by Bob Ross uses the Bob Ross paint line.

I have been watching the Joy of Painting for the last several years, and have really appreciated not only his ability as an artist but his interest in encouraging anyone to paint. Everyone would love to be able to paint pictures and until he has shown us his technique many people would never have tried. As a result of his effort and commitment millions of people now are experiencing the Joy of Painting. His gentle manner and love of nature always made him a pleasure to watch.
