The smooth surface option is ideal for detailed pen and ink work and is also suited for pencil, colored pencil, and marker. Both surfaces are excellent for airbrushing. Copic Multiliners SP are waterproof on most paper surfaces which makes them highly suited for watercolors as they will not bleed. The Multiliner SP are also Copic proof, meaning that when they are dry the pens’ ink will not bleed when colored over with Copic markers. The wax in colored pencils prevents Multiliner SP ink for absorbing into paper properly. This may cause the pen’s line to smudge and smear, so it is recommended that Copic Multiliner SP pens are applied before colored pencils.
