Product Questions and Answers

Can this glaze be used on a project that will be outside?

- Asked by Gloria K on 15-Jun-14

Sculpey projects may be used outdoors and the glaze with help make it waterproof. However, Sculpey recommends placing the item in a protected area away from direct sunlight as it may affect the colors.

Will this product work on other media such as ceramic, wood, or plastic?

- Asked by G. Blanchard on 15-Jun-13

I would say it might work on ceramic, since it is similar to polymer clay. However, they are meant to be used on clay so I'm not too sure about wood or plastic.

Will this glaze fire in a oven with oven bake clay?

- Asked by shiro uta on 26-Nov-12

This product will air dry, no baking required.

- Answered by MisterArt on 27-Nov-12

I'd like to know if this glaze can be applied over glaze. I paint on premade plates, and wish to seal the images. Would this product work on other glazes?

- Asked by chan on 03-Nov-12

This glaze is used as a coating for Sculpey clay products. This glaze will not work on a painted surface.

I have just started using the Sculpey Glaze; before I found the Glaze at MisterArt.com; I was using an clear acrylic spray paint, that caused the items I painted to become sticky, discolored, and have air bubbles on the surface. Now that I am using the Sculpey Glaze, I no longer have those problems, and the product has an even shine that the acrylic paint did not have. thanks

Easy to use, quick drying time with satisfactory results. My only complaint would be the size of the bottles. I'd buy this by the gallon if it were sold that way! Thanks again sculpey for yet another great product!

I like this glaze, my projects really look great. It brings out the colors of the clay and of the pigment powders I use.

Glaze creates a nice finish. Frustrating that it comes in just a 1 ounce size. Why is that?

Loved this stuff!!!! I've used glazes prior to this one, and found many of them to be too sticky on the clay. But this one works beautifully! Thanks!
