Which Speedball brayer should I use to ink rubber stamps with water-based inks like Jacquard Textile inks: the soft or the hard?

We suggest using the Speedball soft rubber brayer. Soft rubber brayers are best for printing procedures and ink distribution. The sizes range for 1 1/2 in. to 6 in.

I need a non-toxic method of cleaning brayers used with oil-based printing inks. Any suggestions?

Answer

Most oil-based inks clean up with kerosene, mineral spirits, or turpentine. We do not carry a non toxic cleaner for oil-based inks.

You cannot go wrong with Speedball brayers. I recently bought a dozen for a special program I'm doing with art therapy clients and with their disabilities, they still found using the brayers easy and effective. I still have Speedball brayers that are 35 yrs old that work just fine!

Just rec'd my 3 brayers, already have played w/ all of them - quality is outstanding; awesome results w/ direct pad inking, as well as resist inking off of a colored stamp onto the brayer (instructions included w/ brayers). Easy clean up, excellent buy!

This Speedball Brayer is really a great tool. I am into a LOT of stamping and we learned new techniques at a class using the brayer. Since I can't mention companies anyone who does a lot of stamping and buys stamps and merch.know who I am talking about. I have the 4" soft rubber brayer, and I love it!! The value is fantastic. No rubber stamper should be without a brayer, and this one is the best. The ink transfer is perfect, and you can use it for a million other things. Words cannot express how much I love this product.

I work in the pharmacutical industry and use these rubber brayers to seal plates containing different compounds. These brayers work much better than the devices made by companies that are specified for that particular use.
