The specifications specifically disclaim that it is *NOT* guaranteed opaque for photographic use, but my experience is that it works just as well as the 3M photo tape at lower cost. Of course, I'm not a pro photographer with my business on the line; it's just a hobby for me. Who's to say I won't spoil a few rolls of film one day. But it's worked great for me so far.

This black masking tape works great. I just wish that black masking tape was not so hard to find.

The black gaffers tape is perfect to block unwanted light on cult cameras such as the Holga or Diana. This tape adheres well, but does not leave sticky residue like duct or electrical tape. It is not an easy tape to find - Misterart.com as usual has many hard to find items.
