Product Questions and Answers

How long does it take to dry?

- Asked by Betty blakeman on 25-Jan-14
Answer

Oil paints take months to dry completely, and the time needed varies depending on the thickness of application. Adding mediums helps to adjust the drying time. Oil Painting Medium II slows drying while Oil Painting Medium III speeds up drying time.

Would this paint do well on a piece of primed hardwood?

Very smooth paint, doesn't dry up even when on the palette a few days. Of course it's covered with plastic sheet and a wet towel.

I am an amateur artist and use Grumbacher oils along with Rembrandt and Windsor Newton. In comparison, Grumbacher colors are true, the consistency is good and the price is right!

Painting is my thing for me. No phones no job, nothing but my painting... but these paints help me loose myself in what I'm doing so that I enjoy the texture and consistancy without fighting the paints. I trust the colors and how it comes out of the tube.

Superb rich colors! They mix well and go a long way!! I have been very pleased with these oils. The vibrance is wonderful, and you can't beat them for the price!
Rated by: Dolly R. in Fort Leavenworth, KS
Pretty good for the price...a few are a little "watery" but this doesn't affect it's mixing or "pop". Great for someone who isn't serious yet or just wants to experiment without spending a fortune.
