I was painting with acrylics because they dry faster than oils, but didn't like the lackluster look of the dry paint. I don't like painting with oils because they take FOREVER to dry in-between layers and like to finish a painting sooner than forever. The water-soluble paints are wonderful. i have tried all four brands that are out there. The Max Grumbacher are too thick and difficult to paint with. The Holbein Aqua Duo have beautiful colors but they also are thick and when thinned with a medium take FOREVER to dry; too much like real oils. The Winsor & Newton Artisan have a nice consistency in flow and do actually dry faster than an oil but they look similar to acrylic paint when dry. Actually, I prefer the Van Gogh H2Oils; they flow nicely and do actually dry faster than an oil, and when they dry they still look like an oil paint would. Hope this helps.

I love woriking with this product. I am very chemically sensitive, therefore, have avoided oil painting but now I can paint with oils. I'm so glad this product was made I absolutely love oil painting and would have been very sorry not to have had the experience.

I am new to Oil Painting and recently purchased the Artisan WMO paints. The colors are great with a wide variety of choices. The consistency is easy to work with and blends well with easy clean up. I love these water soluble colors for more than one reason, dry faster, and also in this winter season when I do my paintings indoor these water soluble oils are great because they are odor free.

Artisan water mixable oils are very user-friendly. I tried other water-soluble brands, but over-all none compared to Artisan. I've also used other suppliers, but price and professionalism have been best at MrArt.

I am an oil painting beginning. Until I enrolled in my current class, I had no idea water soluable oils existed. For a new painter, these are fantastic. Not having to worry about any odor or messy clean up allows being able to focus on "leaning to paint" and not worrying about a mess. These water based paints are not easy to find, except at Mister Art. The selection is huge and the customer service is remarkable. I'm so glad I found Mister Art as I love to paint! I would recommend these paints to everyone, and Mister Art!

I just love the Artisan water based oil colors! They are so easy to clean up and most importantly I can not distinguish the difference between these water based products and traditional oil paints!

Excellent stuff. As other reviewers have written, they mix like regular oils, dry like regular oils, don't feel like they're a'going to kill you... and, in addition, you can do all sorts of interesting stuff with water washes, spray bottles, etc. The stand oil product is outstanding. If you're using regular oils, forget the 'student grade' caveat and switch. I doubt if you'll be sorry.

I love these! The colors are brighter than my traditional oils and blend just was well, but with no fumes, easy clean up, and faster drying time. I'm hooked.

This is the perfect blend of the best qualities of oils and acrylics. It has the rich color and luxurious texture of oils, and the easy clean-up and versatility of acrylics. Excellent for mixing, blending and experimenting with other media. It takes a very long time to dry, like oils, which is good for extended working time but not so good if you're used to the quick-dry of acrylics. The really rich, deep colors make it a great choice, though, and you can get them for a great price.

I am allergic to the chemicals required to clean up after using standard oils. I thought I would have to find a new medium, until I discovered W&N's water mixable oils. I can tell no difference in the quality or effect of the paint, and clean up is a breeze, you only need soap and water. A must have for anyone with sensitive skin.

Oil painting is the greatest, and it got even better once I discovered the water mixable oils. There is no fumes to contend with, and wonderfully easy clean up. Paintings have the same quality as non water mixable oils.

I have been using the Artisan Water Mixable oil paints with my students for a number of years and have found them great. Easy to use, very forgiving, slow enough to dry that blending is very easy and of course easy to clean up.

I've tried both regular and water-mixable oil paints and I've found little difference in quality. Windsor & Newton's oil mixable paint has no odor ot it. It is smooth and dries faster than regular oils.

Wonderful paint to use if you live in apartment where spillage has to be controlled. It cleans up with just water and soap. Yet it still looks like oil paint when on canvas! Good price, too!

I was interested in these quality paints because they are oils that can be cleaned up with water. It works just as easy as that. The other good characteristic is that they act just like a typical oil. I would buy again.

I LOVE these paints! Forget traditional oils, these make painting so easy. I often paint outdoors and now instead of bringing turpentine for the paint and water for myself, I just carry water. Clean up is much easier and I don't have to worry about toxic fumes.

Does the idea of oils scare and fascinate you? Have you longed for the coverage and pigment intensity of oils, but dreaded the extensive dry time? Well this is the paint for you. It has the same pigment quality of pure oils with 1/3 or 1/4 the drying time (depending enviroments obviously). Worth every penny.

These are my favorite of the water miscible oils. They can be mixed to produce a wide range of hues and have a buttery consistency. They do tend to dry out on the palette. Brush cleaning is a problem as it seems to be with all water miscible oils.
