Americans for the Arts
Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education. To this end, Americans for the Arts works with cultural and arts service organizations as well as arts educators, arts administrators, artists, and the general public to provide leadership, research, visibility, professional development and advocacy to advance support and resources for the arts in communities across the country. Americans for the Arts continually advances awareness of the arts by pursuing programs and policies consistent with three organizational goals, stated simply: More money for the arts; Arts education for every child; and Community development through the arts.
I have used these exact brushes exclusively for over 30 years teaching art to students from kindergarten to college. They hold up extremely well, if washed properly. They also hold a point and can handle a lot of paint at once. If taken care of they can last for years of continuous use. Students appreciate their quality and get much better results with a higher grade of brush, I cannot believe that Loew-Cornell has discontinued making them; so get them while you can find them.
As a cartoonist, I've found only the 100 nib to be one
that acts like a brush in that it gives me the thick and thin line that I desire, and a very thin line as well. It
handles well and is very flexible.
I have been using this product for years and find that it works perfectly on my gessoed wood pieces. The biggest complaint I have is that over the years Grumbacher has downsized the size of the bottle, now making it only available in these small, expensive quantities. I would like for them to offer them in a larger size.
